Pershing Square Capital Management LP formed a group with otherSears Canada Inc. shareholders to try to block Hoffman Estates-basedSears Holdings Corp.'s C$899 million ($785 million) takeover of itsCanadian unit. Hedge funds Hawkeye Capital Management LLC and KnottPartners Management LLC might take legal action along with WilliamAckman's Pershing Square to get a higher price or to keep Toronto-based Sears Canada as a publicly traded company, the group saidMonday. The group holds about 7.7 percent of the Canadian retailer.
