Fed: Greens call on govt to do ETS deal with them this time

Greens leader BOB BROWN says the federal government should start negotiating with his
party if it wants parliament to pass its plan to tackle climate change.

Despite the Copenhagen summit's failure to deliver strong cuts to greenhouse gas emissions
.. Labor maintains it will reintroduce legislation setting up its carbon pollution reduction
scheme to the lower house in February.

The draft laws have already failed at the hands of the coalition twice.

Senator BROWN suggests the government talk to the Greens if it is to have a hope of
securing the passage of the legislation .. as it's clear Opposition Leader Tony Abbott
is not going to negotiate with the government.
